The regulated price for the canyoneering activities as mandated under the Badian Municipal Ordinance No 11-2022 and Cebu Provincial Ordinance No 2024-04 is Php 2,000. This has been carefully determined to ensure the safety and satisfaction of tourists while supporting the sustainable development of the tourism industry and the preservation of our natural resources.
It is imperative that all tourism operators, guides and related stakeholders comply with this regulation. Noncompliance shall be met with penalties.
Penalties outlined in the Badian Municipal Ordinance No. 11-2022:
First Offense — Php 1,000 per guest or two 2 days community service eight 8 hours a day and one month suspension of business in the case of business permittees in the municipality
Second Offense — Php 1,500 per guest or two 2 days community service eight 8 hours a day and two months suspension of business in the case of business permittees in the municipality
Third Offense — Php 2,500 per guest or two 2 days community service eight 8 hours a day and a revocation of business permit or occupational license
Penalties outlined in the Cebu Provincial Ordinance No. 2024-04:
Any person who violates any provisions of this Ordinance shall be penalized by imprisonment of not more than 1 year or shall be fined in the amount not exceeding Five Thousand Pesos only (PHP5,000) or both in the discretion of the competent court. Additionally, tour guides, lifeguards, and other covered persons may be stripped of their accreditation should they be found to violate any provisions of this Ordinance and or its subsequent issuance in relation thereto. An administrative fine shall also be charged against violators. The amount and collection thereof shall be the subject of an ordinance which shall be enacted by the concerned Local Government Unit.
For the purpose of verifying allegations of violations as stated herein and the collection of administrative fines, a body shall be organized composed of representatives from the concerned Municipalities and the Province of Cebu. The body shall ensure a fair implementation of the penalty clause herein.
These measures are enacted to uphold fair and ethical practices within the tourism sector and to protect the interests of both our visitors and our local community. The Municipality of Badian remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering a sustainable and responsible tourism framework that benefits all.

NOTE: Transportation is NOT included in the price. Most drivers charge P75 per person for the motorbike or shuttle ride from the canyoneering operator’s station up to the entrance, and P25 per person for the tricycle or shuttle ride from the exit of Kawasan Falls back to their canyoneering station. The amount depends on the distance of the station.
Canyoneering Operators are required to have a receiving station with an office, parking area, toilets, bath rooms, kitchen, dining area, and CCTV cameras. They must also secure a business permit, and pay taxes. Operational expenses, transportation and food for tour guides and drivers, and commissions for travel and tours, tourist drivers, hotels, resorts and other agents are also taken from the operator’s share.
