What to Expect
Our driver will pick you up from your hotel in the morning and take you to Moalboal to swim with the Sardine Run and Green Sea Turtles. A life jacket, goggles, and a life buoy guide will be provided to you when you arrive in snorkeling area. The “Sardine Run” is a natural occurrence in which enormous schools of sardines congregate to form a huge “bait ball.” They act in this way to defend themselves against predators, and their coordinated motions can give the impression that they are one large entity. It’s well-known in Moalboal, Cebu, where millions of sardines are readily accessible to divers and snorkelers just off the coast of Panagsama Beach. You don’t need a boat to get a chance to swim with them. However, you can also choose to hire a boat, which will allow you to get to Pescador Island for snorkeling and feeding small coral reef fish. One hour is allotted for the snorkeling activities. If you hire a boat, it will be used to transport you to Pescador Island, Sardines, and Sea Turtles and three hours will be spent on all of the activities. After the activities, you’ll be given time to eat at your preferred restaurant in the area.
Then, we’ll take you to Dalaguete to get a stunning 360-degree views of Cebu island when you reached the Osmeña Peak, the highest point of Cebu with an elevation of 1,013 meters above sea level. The mountain is a cluster of green jagged hills like a distorted version of Chocolate Hills in Bohol. The hike to the summit from the base is about 20-25 minutes only and fairly easy.
Both destinations are interchangeable depending on your preference. You can visit Osmeña Peak first if you want to catch the sunrise. But if you want to rent a boat for Pescador Island, you should do the Moalboal tour first in the morning and visit Osmeña Peak in the afternoon.
