Things to Do

• Trekking to the three famous peaks in southern Cebu: Osmeña Peak, Casino Peak, and Kandungaw Peak

  • Kandungaw Peak, the farthest among the three peaks is another scenic ridge with stunning viewpoints and backdrops. The peak got its name from “dungaw”, which means to “to look down”

What to Expect

Our driver will pick you up from your hotel in the morning and take you to Dalaguete. You’ll get stunning 360-degree views of Cebu island when you reached the Osmeña Peak, the highest point of Cebu with an elevation of 1,013 meters above sea level. The mountain is a cluster of green jagged hills like a distorted version of Chocolate Hills in Bohol. The hike to the summit from the base is about 20-25 minutes only and fairly easy. After that, the driver will take you to the nearest restaurant so you can have breakfast (on your own account).

Then, we’ll take you to the next peak – the Casino Peak. Instead of traveling by car, you also have an option is to hike to Casino Peak all the way from Osmena Peak, which is about an hour trek. The 15-20 minutes hike will lead you to the summit of a rocky ridge, offering a viewpoint unlike anything you’ve likely ever imagined.

The final peak to climb is Kandungaw Peak, which typically takes about 30 to 45 minutes to reach. It’s slightly lower in elevation than Osmeña Peak, rising to approximately 782 meters above sea level. With sheer drop-offs on one side, it’s a fantastic spot for dramatic photos. From the top, you’ll get sweeping views that include Badian Island, as well as Osmeña Peak and Casino Peak. The trail kicks off with a challenging stair climb, immediately pushing you into the anaerobic zone. After the stairs, the trail levels out briefly before ascending toward the first summit. Much of the path is paved, especially in the steeper sections and stairways, making it one of Cebu’s more well-maintained man-made trails. Local farmers use this route daily, carrying large baskets full of vegetables down the mountain.

​After trekking the three peaks, the driver will take you to the nearest restaurant so you can have lunch (on your own account) before heading back to your hotel/resort.
